Anne R. Tarr, age 88, of Gallipolis died Tuesday April 30, 2024 at Holzer Medical Center. Born August 19, 1935 in Jarrett, Virginia she was the daughter of the late James E. and Clara Chappell Redman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband; Norman Howard Tarr; and by twin brothers, William C. and Robert C. Redman.
Anne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a great support to her husband in all his endeavors. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, croqueting and needlepoint. She was especially proud of helping to develop the Ball Canning Book at her first job after getting married at the Ball Company in Muncie, Indiana. She was also known for her great sense of humor. She was a member of Grace Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children; Karl Brandon (Lynne) Tarr of Brockton, Massachusetts, Stephen H. (Holly) Tarr of Millerstown, Pennsylvania and Glenda C. Hatcher of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Joseph V. Tarr, Matthew (Tasha) Hatcher, Sarah Hatcher Brannen and Taylor N. Tarr; and by her great grandchildren, Chase Brannen and Jonathan Hatcher.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday May 6, 2024 at the Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, Indiana with Terry Hines officiating. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gallipolis Lions Club PO box 436 Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 in Anne's memory.
