Betty Gay Adkins, age 77, of Jackson, died Sunday April 27, 2025 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson. Born October 18, 1947 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late F. J. Cremeens and Avanelle Harrison Cremeens Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a sister, Brenda Wells.

Betty was a retired teacher. She loved to be on the water, the beach, riding her golf cart, playing scrabble and cards. She especially loved her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Keith Adkins, whom she married on May 8, 1965, of Jackson; children, Tonya (Brian) Wilt of Jackson, Wendy (Greg) Meredith of Jackson, Melissa (Tim) Bostic of Cadmus and Leighton (Brandi) Adkins of Vinton; grandchildren, Cody Wilt, Abbey (Robbie) Johnson, Bryce (Bethany) Wilson, Kerri (Drew) Sampson,  Cole (Jordan) Bostic, Ciara (Justin) Weaver, Haleigh Adkins, and Rileigh Adkins, and by 15 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Wednesday April 30, 2025 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor David Saunders officiating. Burial will follow in the Olive Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 AM. till time of service.

Betty's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
