Betty Darrelletta Bates, age 29 of Gallipolis, died tragically Thursday January 28, 2021 along with her daughter Abby Lynn Bates. Born August 30, 1991 in Louisa, KY. She was the daughter of Darrell Jude and the late Sharon Setser Jude. In addition to her mother, she was preceded by, her grandparents, Warren and Annie Jude and a grandmother, Sally Jude.

Betty was a wonderful mother and a kind soul, a friend to anybody she ever met. She also enjoyed raising rabbits.

She is survived by, her husband, Robert David Bates of Gallipolis, father and step mother, Darrell Jude and Kimberly Martin of Pilgrim, KY, son, David Matthew Bates of Gallipolis, 3 sisters, Annie and Stephanie Maynard of Pilgrim, KY and Kimberly Wallace of Prestonsburg, KY, 2 life long friends, Nicole Davis of WV. And Donna Music of Louisa, KY along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Friday February 5, 2021 in the Family Life Center at the First Church of the Nazarene 1110 1 ^st . Ave. Gallipolis with Rev. Craig Alan Klein officiating. Friends may call at the Family Life Center from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Betty and Abby Bates Scholarship Fund.
