Brenda Avanell Harrison, age 74, of Gallipolis died Monday evening June 17, 2024 at Abbyshire Place. Born January 25, 1950 in Lawrence County (Lecta), Ohio she was the daughter of the late Clifford Albert Giles and Avanell Capper Giles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by an infant daughter, Rebecca Dawn Harrison; sister, Karen Thayer; and by her brother-in-law, Jim Thayer.

Brenda retired as a cook for the Heart of Valley Head Start. She loved her family and especially adored and loved her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Harold "Buddy" Harrison of Gallipolis; son, Cory (Amy) Harrison of Gallipolis; daughter, Robyn Waugh of Crown City; grandchildren, Paige Harrison (Fiancé' Zackary Koebel), Heidi Harrison, Waylon Waugh, Colton Waugh and Brayden Waugh; and by her brother, Michael (Essie) Giles of Willow Wood.

The family extends a very special thanks to the nurses and staff of Abbyshire Place for the devotion and loving care which Brenda received.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday June 22, 2024 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM. until time of service.

Pallbearers will be: Waylon, Colton and Brayden Waugh, Cory Harrison, Erick Jeffers and Perk Jeffers.
