Obituary

Carolyn D. "CC" Johnson, age 79 of Gallipolis, died Sunday September 1, 2024 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born August 7, 1945 in Leon, WV she was the daughter of the late Orval R. Fielder and Jane Martin Fielder. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Glenn R. Johnson;  daughter, Debbie Thompson and by her brothers and sisters, Robert Dale Fielder, Richard Allen Fielder, Michael Brent Fielder, Ronald Ross Fielder, Sharon L. Donohew, and Janet June Neal.

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Pt. Pleasant, also a member of the Eastern Star and Ladies of the Moose. She retired from Kroger's after 35 years of service. CC was truly a one of a kind. She loved life and lived it to its fullest. She was also the family caregiver, nursing everybody back to health and was an excellent cook.

"CC" is survived by her children, Robert (Christine) Johnson of Marion, OH, Randy (Rebecca) Johnson of Gallipolis and Tammy (Bill) Burns of Cheshire; grandchildren, Seth (Stephanie) Thompson, Tony Thompson, Bridgett (Shane) McCloud, Jessica (Christopher) Stebelton, Adam Johnson, Jamie Galati, Lonnie Johnson, Chris Hunt and Jason Burns; several great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Ball of Pt. Pleasant, Debbie (Jack) Simpkins of Pt. Pleasant and Diana Wright of Gallipolis; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday September 5, 2024 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home from 11:00 AM. till Noon. Private graveside services will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson with Pastor Jonathan Pinson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions to be made to the Wounded Warriors or to the American Cancer Society.
