Cecil Vinson Sr. age 93 of Gallipolis, died peacefully at Abbyshire Place on Saturday evening May 16, 2020. Born December 5, 1926 in South Point, he was the son of the late Ural and Velvy Howard Vinson. In addition to his parents, Cecil was preceded by a sister, Patricia and by 3 brothers, Ural, Richard and Roy.
He was a United States Army Veteran, and a retired employee of Kaiser Aluminum in Ravenswood. Cecil was a member of Triedstone Baptist Church, the Ancient York Masonic Lodge #33 and the Southern A's Model A club.
Cecil is survived by his children, Brenda Vinson Murphy Allen of Columbus, Cecil Glendon (Lisa) Vinson Jr. of South Point, Kimberly (James) Taylor of Concord, NC, stepchildren, Debra Holland Howell of Cincinnati and Billy Holland of Gallipolis, a brother, Calvin Vinson of Scott Depot, WV and by numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held on Thursday with burial at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
