Cecile Virginia Bailey, age 85, of Gallipolis, died Sunday morning February 5, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center. Born March 9, 1926 in the Bladen Community, Gallia County. She was the daughter of the late Gertrude Halley. In addition to her mother, she was preceded by a sister, Nanna Jeffers.
Virginia retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center, where she was a supervisor in the food service dept.
She is survived by, her husband, Charles O. Bailey who she married on November 17, 1961 in Pt. Pleasant. A daughter, Charla Murphy of Chillicothe, a granddaughter, Wendi Ferrell of Gallipolis, and 2 great grandchildren, Eric and Michael Ferrell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Thursday February 9, 2012 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Alvis Pollard officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
