Charles F. Hunter, age 75, of Gallipolis, Went to be with the Lord, on Monday August 14, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center. Born July 25, 1942 in Morocco Community, Butler County, Missouri to the late Joe and Odell Woods Hunter. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife, Willie Pearl Jones Hunter, by 4 Sisters: Roxie Hunter, Mable Bladon, Josephine Jones, and Louise Jones; and by 4 Brothers: Alvie Hunter, Jessie Hunter, Albert Hunter, and Eugene Hunter.

Charles retired as a deputy, from the Gallia County Sheriff's Office. He was a member of the Paint Creek Baptist Church and he was truly a Man of God.

Charles is survived by 8 Daughters: Dorothea (Charles) Mackey, Georgia Griffin, Carolyn Walton and Donna Smith all of Kansas City, MO, Daisy Jones of St. Louis, MO, Ollie (Tommie) Stainback of Royal Lakes, IL, Opal (Torrence) Jones of East St. Louis, IL, Arevia Griffin of Blue Springs, MO; 4 Sons: James (Melinda) Griffin, Edward (Senita) Griffin, Marlin (Jennifer) Griffin all of Gallipolis, OH, and Regan Brown of Ravenswood, WV; 12 Grandchildren and 28 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: Ethel Gray of Philadelphia, PA and Katherine Slater of Phoenix, IL; 2 Sister in laws: Macy Weatherspoon of Sidon, MS and Martha Jones of Cruger, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Monday August 21, 2017 at the Paint Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Armstrong officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:00 AM. until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be Larry Dudley, Mark Taylor, Charles Mackey, Darryl Jones, Ju Wuan Robinson, and Charles Calhoune Jr.
