Charles C. 'Snooky' Hollinshed age 72 of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday April 23, 2018 at the Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus. Born December 11, 1945 in Gallipolis, and raised in Middleport, he was the son of the late Cleophus Hollinshed and the late Louvenia Jones Coles. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a Daughter; Shae Inman, and his step father, Ray Coles.
A graduate of Middleport High School, Snooky worked at Heiners Bakery and later Ohio River Electric Company at the Kyger Creek Plant, where he retired after 35 years of service. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church before joining Paint Creek Baptist Church. He was a quiet, humble man who loved his family. He could be funny and enjoyed the outdoors, traveling and sports, especially the Cincinnati Bengals, becoming a fan when the team began. He only missed one season (2017).
Snooky is survived by his Wife; Rosann Dexter Hollinshed of Gallipolis; Daughter; Taia Williams of Gallipolis; step mother, Cora Hollinshed of NC, Grandchildren: Jera Coen, Chase Coen, Blake Harris, and Ryley Williams; great grandchildren, Caylee Coen, Easton Coen, Braylee Harris and Zaydan Harris, Sister; Sandra Garnes of Indianapolis, IN; Step Brother; Ricky Hollinshed of Maryland and a host of Nieces, Nephews, and other family members.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Saturday April 28, 2018 at the Paint Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at church from 11:00 AM. till the time of service.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Morris Hogan, Pete Anderson, and James Bowles.
Family would like to extend a thank you to Dr. Vallee, Holzer Medical Center, Holzer Wound Center in Jackson, and the staff at the Ohio State University Medical Center for the loving care they received.
