Obituary

Christopher Robert Anderson, 84, of Gallipolis, died
Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Holzer Senior Care.
He was born June 30, 1926, in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of
the late Ora Hattie Lee and Robert Hugh Anderson. He
attended Gallia Academy High School prior to enlisting
in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Chris joined the Army in February, 1944, and was discharged
in October, 1946, and received for his services the European
African Middle Eastern Ribbon w/2 Bronze Battle Stars
Asiatic Pacific Theater Phillipine Liberation Ribbon
Victor Medal Army of Occupation Medal Japan; but most
importantly, he accepted Jesus Christ while in the service.
He worked at Goodwill Industries in Lawton OK and at a
steakhouse in Weatherford OK. He also worked in Florida
and North Carolina.
He is survived by his children, Christopher (Sharon)
Anderson and Linda (Paul) Qualls; 6 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; his sisters, Arnetta
Dexter and Joyce Anderson of Gallipolis OH, and Ruth
Jackson of Oklahoma City OK. He was preceded in death
by one sister, Janet Anderson. He is also survived by a host
of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all of
whom loved him greatly and will always remember his
sense of humor.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM. Monday December 6, 2010 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Armstrong officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-7 PM.
Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions to be made to the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 Second Avenue Gallipolis, Ohio 45631, to help the family pay for Christopher's funeral expenses.
