Clara Ernestine Hirth, 108, of Tampa, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 28th, 2026. She had been at Consuelo’s Assisted Living since January 2024.

Clara was born on January 29th, 1918, in Mason County, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Leonard and Betty Byus. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter J. Hirth and daughter B. J. (Betty Jo) Catalano. She is survived by her sister Ruth Coutcher; nieces Catherine Coutcher, Carolyn Coutcher and Betty Keene all from Florida and nephew David Coutcher from Texas.

A Very Special Friend of many years and Sister in Christ – Nancy Blethen was a tremendous blessing to both Clara and Betty Jo during their life. She was the personal representative for Clara until her passing.

Clara graduated from Point Pleasant High School in 1935 and until her passing was the oldest living alumni.

While living in Tampa, she and her daughter attended Liberty Baptist Church where she taught a ladies Sunday School class until she was 99 years old. Clara loved her Lord Jesus and faithfully served him through her life and testimony to others.

Graveside Service will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery, Henderson, WV.

Her wit, humor, warmth, and graceful spirit will be treasured by all who knew her.
