Clarence "Jack" Everett Jackson, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21st, 2021 after a short illness.  He was born March 13, 1934 in Gallipolis Ohio to William Andrew Jackson and Esther Marie (King) Jackson.  He attended Gallia Academy High School and earned two football Most Valuable Player awards.

Clarence served for 26 years in the United States Air Force, joining in 1952 and Honorably Discharged in 1978.   As an aircraft mechanic and munitions specialist, he served at military bases in Michigan, Florida, Arizona, and Germany.  Additionally, he served as a combat Veteran in Vietnam and Thailand.  Clarence received multiple commendations including the Air Force Commendation Medal (First and Second Oak Leaf Cluster), and the National Defense Service Medal.

Clarence also served in positions with Anamax Mining Company (Arizona) and the State of Arizona.

He is survived by his wife Lelia Jackson; his children, Keith Jackson and Edna (Lawrence) Cochrane-Liu; and grandson D.J. "Ducky" Cochrane.  He is preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Jackson.

Clarence was always full of incredible vitality and energy.  He was a loving husband and father, raising his children to cherish Christian values.   The love for his wife, after 64 years of marriage, served as a wonderful example of Christian marriage.  He always saw the best in people, and was quick to share kind words and encouragement.  His love and positive presence will be deeply missed.

Services will be 2:00 PM. Friday March 5, 2021 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:30 – 2:00 PM.

Full Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the United States Air Force and the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.
