Darlene VanSickle Dixon, age 74, of Gallipolis, died Sunday January 29, 2012 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. Born August 12, 1937 in Gallipolis. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Virginia Taylor VanSickle.
Darlene was a retired beautician.
She is survived by a daughter, Julia (Robert) Bates of Gallipolis, a son, Charles A. (Yvonne L.) Kinder of Gallipolis.
11 grandchildren: Lyndsey Bates, Jenna (Shane) Plantz, Matthew Bates, David Bates, Miranda Brister, Jeremy Kinder, Josh (Heidi) Kinder, CJ. Kinder, Britney Murphy, Melissa Griffith, Samantha Griffith.
5 Great Grandchildren: Hayden Kinder, Ciena Kinder, Zoey Kinder, Chase Kinder, Peyton Plantz.
4 Sisters: Janice (Roger) Scott of Bucyrus, Wanda Hager of Rio Grande, Patricia Williamson of Crown City, Shirley (Danny) Palmer of Cheshire.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Thursday February 2, 2012 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Kevin Plantz officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nick Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with Darlene's funeral expenses.
