Davey Joe Russell, age 90 of Gallipolis, died Monday March 17, 2025 at Abbyshire Place. Born May 31, 1934 in Fostoria, Ohio, he was the son of the late Reuben O. and Norma Russell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by sisters, Barbara Ann Thompson and Melba Wice, by a brother, Bradyn Russell and daughters and son in laws, Elizabeth and Tom Mazey and Vanessa and Virgil Queen, and by a son in law, Jerry Hill.

Joe was a lifelong farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church and Patriot Masonic Lodge. He served his country as a Veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by, his wife, Frances J. Saunders Russell of Gallipolis, sons, Mike (Julie) Russell of Rio Grande, Scott (Peggy) Russell of Rio Grande, Joseph (Sherry) Russell of Patriot and Tom Brown of Gallipolis,  daughter, Eileen Hill of Gallipolis, 13 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Rudy (Ann) Russell of Citrus Springs, FL.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Friday March 21, 2025 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jane Ann Miller officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. Burial will be at a later date in Mound Hill Cemetery.
