Donald Ray Powell, age 74 of Gallipolis, died Friday August 30, 2024 at the St. Mary's Medical Center. Born May 19, 1950 in Vandalia, Ohio he was the son of the late Harry William Powell and Fannie Mae Parker Powell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a brother, Claudia Powell.
Donald was an auto mechanic, and had a great love for nature and animals. He was also a United States Navy Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian E. Wilson Powell of Gallipolis; children, Donald Powell Jr. of Gallipolis, Darrin William (Julie) Powell of Pittsboro, NC, Beth Garrett of Crossville, TN and Sondra K. Smith (Alan Gallatin) of Crossville, TN; sister, Sylvia (Ronnie) Williams of Springboro, OH; grandchildren, Michael Smith, Adriannah Powell; Nicole Smith, Mariah Smith, Donald Powell III, Lakin Smith, Brittany Smith, Taylor Powell Tara Powell and by several additional grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
As per Donald's wishes there will be no services.
