Donita Mae Simms, age 87, of Rio Grande, passed away Tuesday July 18, 2017 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born August 16, 1929 in Gallia County, She was the daughter of the late, Griff Clinton Cook and Edna Pearl Clyse Cook. In addition to her parents she was preceded by 1 Son; Allen Scott Simms; 1 Grandson; Neal Allen Simms and by 1 Sister; Bonnie Carter.

Donita retired from Robbins & Myers. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by 2 Sons; Richard Michael (Kathy) Simms of Scott Depot, WV and Jeff Dean (Debbie) Simms of Gallipolis; 4 Grandchildren; Richard Adam (Leanne) Simms, Aaron Bradley Simms, Joshua Lafe Simms, and Jason Lee Simms; 4 Great Grandchildren; Kyle Ryan Neal, Jaymon Lafe Simms, Benjamin Richard Simms, and Matthew Dale Simms; 1 Brother; Griff Cook Jr. of Bidwell; and by 1 Sister; Peggy Bunsold of Marysville.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday July 22, 2017 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
