Donna McDaniel, age, 82 of Gifford, Illinois passed away on Tuesday February 12, 2019 at the Carle Hospital in Urbana IL. Born March 3, 1936 in Gallia County, Ohio (Cadmus Community), she was the daughter of the late Willard Grate and Magdalene Kiser Grate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband and childhood and high school sweet heart, John Wesley McDaniel; Son, John McDaniel Jr., and by a brother, Charles Grate.

Her favorite part of life was being a mother to

Daughter, Ann (Jim) Lambert of Urbana, Illinois.

She was very proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren

Sloan Booth, Jacob Lance, Adam McDaniel and Traci Docherty

Loved spending time with Great Grandchildren who put a smile on her face.

Also surviving are 2 Sisters, Betty Warren of St Joe Illinois and Debbie Burnett of Gallipolis, Ohio; Daughter-n-law, Janice McDaniel of Gifford, Illinois.

She was an Air Force wife. She lived in Costa Rica, New Jersey, Ohio, Texas, Illinois,

Massachusetts. She retired in Gifford, Illinois.

She enjoyed doing crafts and sewing.  She loved to watch college sports. She was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Fan.

Remember her by spending time with the elderly and giving a kind word and a smile everyday.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Monday February 18, 2019 at the Salem Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
