Doris C. Stone, age 94, of Gallipolis, died Saturday May 4, 2013 at Holzer Medical Center. Born March 30, 1919 in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Edna Foulke Campbell. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded by her husband, LTC. Loren Frederick Stone, by 1 brother, Harold Campbell and by two sisters, Madeline Rees, and Jean Rothfleisch.
Doris retired from the Ohio State University where she worked as a manager in the Registrar's office. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gallipolis.
Doris is survived by three daughters, Jean (Gary) Short of Vienna, Sherry (Richard) Angel of Lancaster, and Sandra (Rick) VanBrimmer of Columbus. Two grandchildren, Karen Martinez of Hurricane, and Scott Angel of Lancaster. One great grandchild, Aidan Martinez of Hurricane.
Doris is also survived by her special family, Leanna (Don) Kingery of Gallipolis, Marissa (Adam) Stapleton of Gallipolis, and Lindsay (David) Hapney and there daughters of Mt. Holly, PA.
A private burial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM. until 1:00 PM. at the First Presbyterian Church of Sunday May 19, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church 51 State St. Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 in Doris' memory.
