Gallipolis
Dorothy L. Condee 1932-2024
Dorothy L. Condee, age 91, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, April 16th, 2024, at Holzer Senior Care. She was born on June 10th, 1932, in Addison, Ohio, to the late Farrell and Geneva Betz Haskins.
Dorothy was a true daughter of Gallipolis, spending her entire life in the area. She graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1950 and married the late Robert "Bob" L. Condee in 1952. Together, they raised three children: Debbie, Bobby, and Timmy.
Dorothy and Bob were longtime members of the First Baptist Church in Gallipolis. Their shared passion for church and their beloved camper filled many of their days. They made memories visiting campgrounds around the region and later became "snowbirds", heading to Florida for three months of each year to escape the Ohio winters.
From 1975 to 1983, Dorothy served as Gallia County Auditor. Following her tenure as auditor, she continued her public service on the Board of Elections, volunteering time and energy to the democratic process in her hometown.
Dorothy's legacy is one of dedication and service. She leaves behind her three children, Deborah Miller, Robert (Jane) Condee, and Timothy (Leila) Condee; four grandchildren, Sarah N. Burnett, Kyle (Sarah) Burnett, Reid Condee, and Andrew (Heather) Condee; and two great-grandchildren, Brooks, and Jackson Burnett.
In addition to her parents and late husband, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Ray (Naomi) Haskins, Glen (Margaret) Haskins, Robert (Claire) Haskins, and a granddaughter, Allyson L. Burnett.
There will be a private graveside service to honor Dorothy's life on Saturday, April 20th at Mound Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Holzer Heritage Foundation. Dorothy's family would like to extend gratitude and thanks to the teams at Holzer Senior Care and Holzer Hospice Care for their compassionate attention to Dorothy. Thank you to Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home for service preparations and arrangements.
