Dr. Regis Marie Gilman

Dr. Regis Marie Gilman, 73, of Hickory, NC, passed away Friday, September 11th, at home with her daughter by her side.

Born August 23, 1953, in Clinton, KY, she was the daughter of the late Clifford Gilman and Ferris Eeleen Rogers Gilman.

Dr. Gilman was a lifelong learner with a deep passion for education and for teaching others, and she was honored with numerous awards recognizing her contributions to continuing and higher education.

Outside of her work, she found joy in sailing, traveling, needlepoint, and simply spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Clifford Warren Gilman, and her sisters, Gwendolynn Bernice Gilman Carter and Jacqueline Rae Gilman Theil.

She is survived by her daughter, Micaela Kathleen Cuda, and her son, Andrew Ryan Glenn; her two grandchildren, Dean Michael Cuda and Austin Glenn Cuda; nieces and nephews Anette Lynn Carter Brown, Mark Allen (Mary-Lisa) Carter, Gregory John (Connie) Consier, and Jeana Lynn Consier; and great-nieces and great-nephews Cody (Al) Carter, G. Carter Smith, Shelby (Trenton) Sheldon, C. Dylan Carter, Sean Matthew Deenik, Kiera Josephine Consier, Chloe Gabrielle Consier, and Colin John Consier.

Services for Regis will be 11:00 AM Saturday September 26, 2026 in the Chapel of Hope at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or to ACHE (the Association for Continuing Higher Education).
