Eleanor (Strong) Brown, age 95, of Gallipolis, Ohio, left for heaven on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. She was born March 16, 1927 in Bowersville, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years (Carroll Brown), parents (Burl and Audra Strong), brother (James Bennett Strong), in laws (Herbert and Laura Brown), and brother- in- law (G. Richard Brown). Left to mourn are their four daughters and their families: Diana Struve (Ron), and their children, Brad, Mark (Heather), Jaime (Jimmy Franxman), Tim (Milena), and Todd (Ashley); Denise Chase (Jeff), and their children, Brent (Jessy), Jeremy (Teri), Jennifer (Matt Siders); Nancy Jones (John) and daughter, Hanna Downs; Becky Brown and her children, Jason (Rebecca), Tiffany (Matt Wiseman), and Kaylee (Craig McGuire). Eleanor also leaves behind many great grandchildren. Her sister-in-law (Ann Brown) and nieces (Sandy Bledsoe and Cindy Fellure and their families) will also miss her.

A Greene County native, she spent nearly 50 years in Gallia County, her husband's home. She graduated high school in Xenia, OH in 1945. She attended two years of college at Cincinnati Bible Seminary and later worked at the Greene County Courthouse. When living in Columbus, OH, she worked for Judge Rose and as title clerk at two Columbus Chevrolet dealers (Winders and Rodenfels). An active Christian, she served in various capacities at Xenia's First Church of Christ, Columbus' Westhill Church of Christ, Chesapeake Christian Church and most recently at Gallipolis Christian Church.

She instilled a love of God, nature, music and family to all who knew her. She leaves behind huge shoes to fill as a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.

Visitation will be at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Monday, September 26, 2022 at 10:00AM and service at 11:00AM followed by a private graveside service.
