Elizabeth Irene Persinger, age 93, of Gallipolis, 'went to be home with the Lord' on Monday morning September 4, 2017. Elizabeth was born in Gallipolis on December 19, 1923, to Elmer and Sarah Dray Harrington. She married her first husband, Harold Houser in 1940, and he preceded her in death. She remarried James Mitchel Persinger in 1952. He preceded her in death in 1962. She never remarried. She was also preceded in death by Children: Wanda (Willard) Brown, Barbara Wise, Ray (Helen) Houser, and James 'Jimmy' Persinger Jr, and by 1 Sister, Frances Blackburn.

Elizabeth was a member of New Life Lutheran church. She worked for many years at the Gallia County Court House and later at the French Art Colony. She enjoyed walking about town and visiting with everyone. She also loved Lorobi's pizza, and it was one of her regular stops.

She is survived by Daughters: Sharon Carmicheal, Connie (John) Durham, and Donna (Duane) Knapp, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, a son in law, Leroy Wise and a daughter in law, Andrea Persinger.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Thursday September 7, 2017 at New Life Lutheran church with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Cheatam, Craig Hesson, Derrick Knapp, Dustin Knapp, Kip Lyons, and Scott Wise.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Holzer Hospice in Elizabeth's memory.
