Emma Marie Palmer, age 81 of Cheshire, died Saturday February 28, 2026 at the Ohio Health Hospice House in Columbus. Born April 24, 1944 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Charles Lester Richards and Rhonda Jane Spicer Richards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Gary Wayne Palmer.

Marie retired from Holzer Medical Center and was a member of Cheshire Baptist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Theodore Cumston; sister-in-law, Kay (Marc) Hardway; brother-in-law, David (Connie) Palmer; brother-in-law, Danny (Shirley) Palmer; and by her nieces and nephews, Christi Palmer, Lora Palmer, Michelle Darst, Amy Robie, Brittany Sparling, Dayton Hardway and Christoper Palmer.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM. Tuesday March 10, 2026 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 AM. till time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Cheshire Baptist Church 8057 St. Rt. 7 North Cheshire, Ohio 45620 in Emma's memory.

There will be a time of food and fellowship following the burial at Cheshire Baptist Church.
