Emma Jean Yates, age 77, of Gallipolis, died Sunday September 26, 2021 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Born December 11, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helen White Earwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Eugene 'Gene' Yates.

Emma worked for many years as an attendant at the Gallia County Children's home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Tuesday October 5, 2021 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Workman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon until time of service.
