Esther Helen Davis, age 97, formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio died Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at her residence at Songbird Assisted Living, in Longview, Texas.

Born July 12, 1919, in Valier, Montana, she was the daughter of late Henry Paulson and Emma Lonnevick Paulson.

She married James N M Davis August 12, 1940, in Evanston, Illinois. She traveled extensively with her husband during his military career and settled in Gallipolis. During her time in Gallipolis, she was active in school activities, Grey Ladies, Cancer Society, County Election Board, Grange, Christ United Methodist Church, and volunteer work at Holzer Medical Center.

She was preceded in her death by her husband James NM Davis, her three brothers (Norris, Maynard, and Glen), and her three children (James, Jan, and Bill).

She is survived by her grandson, James R. Davis, Houston, Texas and granddaughter, Christi Anne (Robert) Daniel, Longview, Texas. Five great grandsons also survive (Micah, Tyler, Austin, and Zach Daniel and James Davis).

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Mound Hill Cemetery.
