Evelena Williams, age 94, of Gallipolis, died Saturday morning November 22, 2014 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born September 8, 1920 in Amherst, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Edna Hudson Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, John M. Williams, by a son, Ned Williams, and by a brother, Malcolm Jones.
Evelena was a nursing assistant retiring from Holzer Hospital. She was a member of The First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by, 1 son, John Marshall (Suzy) Williams Jr. of Gallipolis, 1 daughter, Martha Ann Aslin of Minnesota. 4 Grandchildren, John Marshall (Monica Freeman) Williams III of Gallipolis, Mitch (Angie) Williams of Gallipolis, Kenneth David Aslin of California and Lisa LaRosa of Minnesota, and 3 Great Grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM. Wednesday November 26, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Kevin Plantz officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the First Church of The Nazarene in Evelena's memory.
