Glida "Evelyn" Noble, 78, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was born on December 2, 1946, in Hamlin, West Virginia, to Genevieve Dunlap Nunn and Norris Nunn, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the eldest of six children and spent her childhood on the family farm in Gallia County.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Cecil "Willie" (Diane) Noble of Gallipolis, and her daughter, Vikki Williams of Gallipolis. Her memory lives on through her siblings. Her brother Elwood Nunn of Crown City. Sisters Charlotte (Jack) Satterfield of Langsville, Chyrel Nunn of Gallipolis and Marcella Taylor of Rio Grande. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Gary Tenney of Gallipolis.

Evelyn was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren: Cody Noble of Laurel, Maryland; Kaylee (Jesse) Patrick of Gallipolis; Katelyn Birchfield (Chris Evans) of Columbus, Ohio; Tyler (Kia Casey) Noble of Bidwell; Trey (Hannah) Noble of Fort Meade, Maryland; Kallie Birchfield of Thurman and Kasey Birchfield (Josh Marcum) of Thurman. She was also blessed with twelve great-grandchildren: Capri Noble, Sawyer, Kase, and Mac Patrick, Kyllen and Kaleigha Casey, Ella, Maggie, Annie, and Hayes Noble, Cooper Briggs, and Declan Patterson, and other extended family.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Cecil Kenneth Noble (2016), whom she married on April 4, 1963, and a sister, Barbara White (2023).

For more than 60 years, Evelyn devoted herself to her craft as a self-employed interior painter and wallpaper specialist, working hand in hand with her family. Her exceptional skill and dedication earned her the respect and admiration of every client she served. As the heart of her family, Evelyn was a pillar of strength, love, and unwavering support. Her presence was treasured at every family gathering, sporting event, and celebration. With her radiant warmth, Evelyn had a gift for brightening any room, always the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Visitation for family will begin at 5PM on Thursday, December 26, at Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects from 6-7 PM with a memorial service to follow. In accordance with Evelyn's wishes, her cremains will be laid to rest at a later date.

Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Cody Noble, Kaylee Patrick, Katelyn Birchfield, Tyler Noble, Trey Noble, Kallie Birchfield, and Kasey Birchfield. Honorary pallbearer Cooper Briggs her great grandson.

Evelyn's legacy of love and dedication to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
