Gloria J. Holmes, age 65 of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday August 9, 2025 at her residence. Born October 13, 1959 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Loretta Fultz Holmes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, James Williams and by a beloved son, La Ron Garnes.

Gloria was a good-hearted soul and enjoyed a happy life  with her daughter, La Kisha Williams and enjoyed spending everyday with her and remembering her son. She worked for many years at Holzer Medical Center, she later worked at and retired from the mushroom farm in Jackson.

She was known for her kindness to others. She loved her two dogs very much and  spoiled them. Her family and friends are going to miss their Sunday and holiday meals that they shared together. She also enjoyed working in her flower beds, game shows and movies with La Kisha.

Gloria leaves behind her daughter, La Kisha Williams of Gallipolis, two grandchildren, Darryn and Lyvia Garnes of Bidwell who she loved very much and by two sisters, Diana Neal of Gallipolis and Debbie Holmes of Gallipolis along with nieces, nephews and a host of other family members who cared about her.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM. Friday August 15, 2025 at Corinth Cemetery with Pastor Lewis Brandon Carter officiating.

A repass dinner will follow the service at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church 3401 Jimes Emory Road Oak Hill, OH 45656.
