Gwendolyn B. 'Gwen' Carter, age 73, of Gallipolis, died Sunday evening March 1, 2015 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born May 30, 1941 in Sioux City, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Ferris Rogers Gilman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by 1 brother, Clifford Warren Gilman.
Gwen is survived by, 1 son, Mark (Mary Lisa) Carter of Patriot, 1 daughter, Anette (Chris) Brown of Patriot, 2 sisters, Dr. Regis M. Gilman (Stephen Hume) of Charleston, IL. and Jacquelyn R. (Joe) Thiel of Crown Point, IN. 6 grandchildren, Chris (Lori) Carter of Rodney, Cody Carter of Athens, G. Carter Smith, Kelsey Brown, Shelby Brown, and Dylan Brown all of Patriot, her special dog, Pistol and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Gwen was a charter member of the New Life Lutheran Church, and enjoyed traveling. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Thursday March 5, 2015 at the New Life Lutheran Church, with Pastor John Jackson officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from Noon until the time of service.
Pallbearers will be: Chris Brown, Steve Hume, Chris Carter, Cody Carter, G. Carter Smith, and Dylan Brown.
