Helen Fern Johnson, age 92, of Crown City, died Tuesday December 28, 2010 at her son's home in Canal Winchester. Born September 14, 1918 in Gallia County. She was the daughter of the late Eura and Arley Edna Haskins Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Chancey E. Johnson, and by one sister, Hazel Sheets.
Helen was a 1936 graduate of Gallia Academy High School. She retired at age 70 from the Gallia County Human Services, where she worked as a supervisor. She attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by one Son, Derry (Marva) Johnson of Canal Winchester, a Daughter, Romona (Larry) Lane of Crown City, three Grandchildren, Natalie (Clint) Daughtery of Archer, FL., Matthew (Angie) Angel of Crown City, and Michael (Missy) Angel of Gallipolis. Four Great Grandchildren, Ava Rae Angel, Arley, Sydney and Gracie Daugherty, 1 Sister, Ruth M. (Donald) Niday of Freemont, Ohio, and by 2 Nieces, Pam (David) Lester of Helena, Ohio and Cheryl (Mark) Murray of Old Fort, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Sunday January 2, 2011 at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastors, Alfred Holley and Troy Delaney officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 5-7 PM.
