Hilda Irene Garvin Hunt, age 86, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday morning April 8, 2022 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.

She was born on August 9, 1935 in Mason County, West Virginia to the late William David Garvin and Francis Elizabeth Carpenter Garvin Kearns. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Clyde Hunt Jr.  brothers, Raleigh Garvin, James Garvin, Clinton Garvin and Kenneth Garvin, sisters, Margaret Cantrell, and Elaine Mayton, and a son in law, Larry Fitzwater.

She is survived by her children, Randy (Tava) Hunt, Dennis Hunt, Roger Hunt, Stephen Hunt, David (Tracey) Hunt, Rita Fitzwater, Janice Click of Wheelersburg, and Ronald Jay (Trina) Hunt of Alabama, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Kerma Kay Hunt of Florida, Howard Eugene Garvin, and Robert Henry who both reside in Lafayette, Tennessee.

She was a loving mother, and grandmother who enjoyed raising her family and traveling. She faithfully attended the Patriot United Methodist church for many years.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday April 14, 2022 at the Waugh Halley Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Mercerville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 12 to 2PM.
