James Delton "Jim" Lane Obituary:

"God, in his grace, has been good to me. He gave me enough time on earth to enjoy ¬¬-family, meet and know good friends and to draw myself closer to Jesus." — Jim Lane
James Delton "Jim" Lane, 75, of Gallipolis, a son of the late Delton and Sylvia Lane, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 19, 2016. He was born February 26, 1941 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania. Cause of death was ocular melanoma, a rare, rapidly spreading cancer. Jim was a retired supervisor of the Water Division for Butler County Dept. of Water and Sewer. Previously he worked as a District Manager for the state of California as Senior Hydroelectric Plant Operator and supervisor for construction and operation of the Edmondson pumping plant, the largest in the world. He was a retired Navy veteran.
Jim is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandra Lynn Hutchens Lane; sons Mike and Jason Lane and their mother Judy Spalding; grandsons Mathew, Brian, Nicholas, and Nathan Lane; great-grand children Maddison, Harrison, and Alice Lane. Jim is also survived by his brother Jack Lane and sisters Barbara Saunders, Judith Lois Kaloust, and Sylvia "Tink" Goodnite. Jim was preceded in death by his sister Donna Lane.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Good News Baptist Church in Gallipolis with Pastor Eric officiating. Interment will follow at the Reynolds Cemetery in Gallipolis.
Jim Lane was a good man and is greatly missed.
