James Everette Montgomery, age 77 of Patriot, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday evening March 20, 2025 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington. Born April 12, 1947 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Carl Monroe Montgomery and Virginia Kathleen Mooney Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a son, James Allen Montgomery, sister, Nancy Altizer and a grandson, Everett Montgomery.

James owned and operated French City Tool for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Renee (Kenny) Fuller and Melissa Montgomery, grandchildren, DJ (Rhonda) Montgomery, Wes (Tabby) Montgomery, Sara (Jason) McGuire, Colton (Brittany) Hensley, Elijah Chapman, Evander Chapman, Ellie Montgomery, Ean and Emerly Montgomery, great grandchildren, Natalie, Jamie, Angus, Shannon, Allie, Killian, Aria, Everleigh and Rosie Anne. Also surviving is a sister, Carla (Mark) Addis, a brother, Lyndon Montgomery and a daughter in law, Laura.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Monday March 24, 2025 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Garland Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 – 1:00 PM.
