Jennifer Erin
Mcdonald
Aug 30, 1971 — Apr 28, 2025
Thurman
Jennifer Erin McDonald passed away on Monday, April 28, 2025. She was born on August 30, 1971 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Donna Mae Houston Lawhon and Timothy Locke Lawhon. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and so much more. Jennifer loved being around people, whether it was her family, friends, or the various people she came into contact with daily. She had such a positive attitude and her ability to maintain that positivity through everything was truly inspiring.
Jennifer enjoyed attending church at River City Fellowship where she was a member. She especially enjoyed working in the church cafe and listening to River City's praise and worship band; partially because of the message but also because she had an absolute love of music. Jennifer's love of music started at a very young age while riding around with her dad listening to 8 track tapes. She played the saxophone in high school, blasted music in her car at every opportunity, and attended dozens upon dozens of concerts in her lifetime. She enjoyed vastly different genres. Jennifer recently found a new appreciation for Broadway musicals after seeing a show in New York last year. Her love of music lives on through her daughters in their own special ways.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Tim Lawhon. She was survived by her husband, Richard Dean McDonald, daughters: Jessica Mae Halley (Saxton) and Mackenzi Erin "Finley" McDonald, grandchildren: Jonathan and Robert Saxton, parents, John and Donna Polenz, sister, Heather (Curtis) Casto, and lifelong best friend, Scarlett Enos. Jennifer had a blended family and was also survived by siblings: Jari (Nick) Cain, Eric (Paula) Clary, and Bethany (Travis) Wamsley.
