Joan Dayton, age 87, of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday September 17, 2016 at Holzer Senior Care Center. Born May 31, 1929 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Stanley and Mary Burnette Thornton. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her Husband; Robert J. Dayton, 2 Brothers; and by 1 Sister.
Joan was a homemaker and a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by 4 Children; Priscilla Clark of Wilmington, Joseph (Debi) Dayton of Lucasville, Michael (Tiana) Dayton of Gallipolis, and Timothy Dayton of Pt. Pleasant.; 5 Grandchildren; Robert J. (Christina) Clark, Derek Clark, Alicia Jean (Chris) Newman, Allison (Justin) Vogt, and Nicholas Dayton; and by 4 Great Grandchildren; Ian Newman, Alexis Newman, Asher Newman, and Eleanor Vogt.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM. Wednesday September 21, 2016 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday 1 hour prior to services.
