Joan E. Folden passed away on September 11, 2015 in Stuart, FL. she was 89. Ms. Folden was born on December 4, 1925 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was raised in MacArthur, Ohio. She studied for a degree in nursing at the Holzer School of Nursing, graduating in 1946 and started her career at Holzer Hospital and clinics. Later she joined the Gallipolis Developmental Center as a psychiatric nurse where she worked for 20 years until she retired. She married Irvin L. Folden on August 6, 1947 and after 64 years of marriage he preceded her in 2012. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis, and the First United Methodist Church in Hobe Sound, FL. She had a full life with family, travel, bridge, and endless numbers of lifelong friends both in Gallipolis and in Hobe Sound. She is survived by a son, Thomas of Alamo, CA. and a granddaughter, Alyssa from Hollywood, CA. She was loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM. Saturday October 31, 2015 at the Grace United Methodist Church.
