Joanne E. Elliott, 85 of Bidwell, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday July 6, 2026, at Holzer Senior Care center in Bidwell.
Born on August 5, 1940 in Oxford, Pennsylvania, Joanne was the daughter of the late Curtis and Ethel Wiggins. She married the love of her life, Richard E. Elliott, on October 14, 1961. They shared 54 years of marriage before Richard preceded her in death in 2015.
Joanne graduated from the Holzer School of Nursing in 1961 as a Registered Nurse through its three-year diploma program. Throughout her life, she was known for her compassionate heart, dedication to caring for others, and steadfast faith in the Lord.
She is lovely remembered by her children: Dawn Elliott of Huntington, West Virginia; Vicki (Ray) Bowman of West Chester, Ohio; Jodi (Jim) Coleman of Bidwell, Ohio; and Rick (Becky) Elliott of Millersburg, Ohio.
She was a devoted grandmother to Katie Chapman, Matthew (Samantha) Bowman, Adam Bowman, Hannah Bowman, Braydon (Tiffany) Coleman, Abigail Coleman, Grace Coleman, Lisa (David) Carder, Benjamin Elliott, and Nathan Elliott. Joanne was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Olivia Coleman and Elliott Bowman.
She is also survived by her brothers: Curtis (Judy) Wiggins of Jackson, Ohio; Ron (Jean) Wiggins of Lake Havasu, Arizona; and Charles (Shelli) Wiggins of Westerville, Ohio, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at the Nazarene Family Life Center from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Remembrance Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday August 2, 2026. Joanne’s faith, kindness, feistiness, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched through her caring spirit and the love she shared with those around her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bossard Memorial Library, 7 Spruce Street, Gallipolis, OH 45631 in Joanne's memory.
