John G. Margoles, age 71 passed away at home in Hillsborough, NC on April 5 ^th , 2022.  He is survived by his loving wife Doris Margoles; his daughter Elise Bortz and husband Aaron (Hillsborough, NC); his son Ben Margoles and wife Sandy (Seattle, WA); and his four grandchildren -- Ari & Eva Bortz and Annabel & Olive Margoles.  He is also survived by his siblings Christina Margoles (Oxford, CT) and George Margoles (Lake Mary, FL) and their families.

John was born in 1950 in New Haven, CT to Margaret (Pickens) Margoles and George Margoles, both previously deceased.  He attended Notre Dame High School in West Haven, CT, followed by Johns Hopkins and Southern Connecticut State University.  John worked as a teacher and computer programmer.

Graveside services will be conducted by Father Thomas Hamm at 1:00 PM on Tuesday April 19, 2022 in Mound Hill Cemetery in Gallipolis, OH, the town where he met his wife Doris and spent his happiest days as a child with his mother, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in John's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital ( stjude.org )
