John S. (Jack) Rodgers, age 90 of Gallipolis passed away peacefully April 12, 2017. Born March 4, 1927 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late James Mills Rodgers and Guineth Rodgers Parker, stepson of Fred A. Parker. His wife Wilnell Jenkins Rodgers preceded him in death February 16, 2000. Also preceding him in death, son, Brent L. Rodgers, brother, James Rodgers, sister Margaret Coder and granddaughter Macy Rodgers.

Surviving are three sons, Bill (Marsha) Rodgers, Gallipolis; Bruce Rodgers, Lebanon; Brad (Pam) Rodgers Westerville; seven grandchildren, Michael (Julie) Rodgers, Hilliard; Mallory (David) Kelley, Grove City; Tyler Rodgers, Columbus; Kevin Rodgers, Kent; Shandra Rodgers, Pataskala, Brandon and Steffanie Rodgers, Westerville; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jack enlisted in the U.S. Air Force February 1946 and served three years in the training command. After his service in the military he became employed with Columbus and Southern Electric Company (AEP) and worked in several administrative positions. He retired in 1982 after 33 years.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis Kiwanis Club, Morning Dawn Lodge #7 of Free Accepted Masons of Ohio, Aladdin Temple Shrine of Columbus, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Gallipolis Shrine Club and Hillbilly Lodge, Gallipolis Post #27 of the American Legion and charter member of the AmVets Post 23. He served as a former member of the Gallipolis Chamber of Commerce, and leader of the Boy Scouts at the Grace UM Church.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15 th at 11 0'clock at the Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis with Pastor Bob Powell officiating. Calling hours will be Friday, April 14 th from 5-8 pm at Waugh Halley Wood Funeral Home in Gallipolis. Masonic services will be conducted by Morning Dawn Lodge #7 Friday evening at 8:00 PM. Entombment will be at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis with Military Funeral Honors conducted at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail .                                                                                                                                                                                                                  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Jack's name to the Grace United Methodist Church, 600 2 nd .
