Juanita Ruth Ireland, age 84, of Gallipolis, died Saturday morning May 7, 2016 at Arbors at Gallipolis. Born June 16, 1931 in West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Marshall and Edna Mitcham Harrison. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Vaile Ireland, by 2 children, Roger Ireland and Viola Blazer, by 2 sisters, June Harmon and Olive Hill, by 3 brothers, Earl Harrison, Warren Harrison and Ted Hill, by a daughter in law, Viola Ireland, and by 2 grandsons and 1 great granddaughter.
Ruth was a health care worker for over 25 years. She previously worked as a cook and waitress in area restaurants for 13 years. She was a member of Addison Freewill Baptist Church for 40 years, and she was an awesome and loving mother to her 10 children.
She is survived by 8 children, John Ireland of Springfield, Ruby Mercer of Springfield, Bryant (Debbie) Ireland of London, OH, Marie Pierce of Circleville, Earl (Teresa) Ireland of Gallipolis, David (Teresa) Ireland of London, Cathy (Harold) Frisby of Hamden, and Lisa (David) Browning of Gallipolis along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Thursday May 12, 2016 at Addison Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors Rick Barcus, David Browning and Jack Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Coalton. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8 PM.
