Katie Marie Evans, age 45 of Thurman, passed away Monday September 2, 2024 at her residence. Born June 10, 1979 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of Carl Edward and Jeanette Lambert Shriver.

Katie was a high school English intervention teacher in the Jackson city schools, a  job she dearly loved. She loved the Lord, her husband and her kids. She enjoyed fishing, her dogs and her goats. She attended Faith Baptist church.

She is survived by her parents, Carl and Jeanette Shriver of Thurman, her husband of 24 years, Floyd Evans of Thurman, children, Colt Evans of Thurman, Greta Evans of Thurman and Taylor (Ben) Rutherford of Gallipolis, and a sister, Jill Holley Shriver of Jackson.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday September 6, 2024 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Floyd Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 Am until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be: Floyd Evans, Carl Shriver, Dean Roger Evans Jr., Larry Evans, Marshall Evans and Ben Rutheford. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jesse Stevens and Shane Wolford.
