Laura L. "Pat" Martin, age 85, of Crown City, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Pleasant Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant, WV. Born August 7, 1929 in Clark County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Geneva Sparks Lee. In addition to her parents she was preceded by 4 children; Thomas Edward Martin, Martha Martin, Linda Rohrbaugh, and Charles Martin Jr.; 1 Granddaughter; Teresa Martin; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; Christy Adkins; 1 Sister; Clara Allen; Brother; Winfrey Lee, a special brother Robert Lee Martin, a son in law, Bernie Goelling and a daughter in law, Lois Martin.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Crown City Wesleyan Church.
She is survived by her Husband; Charles "Pete" Martin whom she married in November 1947; Children; Margaret Adkins of Crown City, Doug Martin of Gallipolis, Sue Goelling of Gallipolis, Paul (Mary) Martin of Gallipolis, Carolyn Martin of Crown City, Rosa Martin of Bidwell, Randy(Teresa) Martin of Crown City, Terry (Missy) Martin of Crown City, and Todd (Kelly) Martin of Crown City; 18 Grandchildren; 46 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren; and by 5 Sisters; Edna (Fred) Pergram of Winchester, KY, Wanda Martin of Patriot, Shirley (Lowell) Dickerson of Winchester, KY, Grace (Charlie) Wash of Winchester, KY, and Cathy Lee of Winchester, KY. And a daughter in law, Vickie Martin of Caldwell, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday August 17, 2014 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Kings Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday August 16, 2014 from 6 :00 – 8:00 PM.
