Lois R. Shaver, age 80, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday January 25, 2012 at her residence. Born October 21, 1931 in Harold, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late George B. and Gypsy Layne Ratliff. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded by her husband, Wayne L. Shaver, who she married on August 12, 1950 and he preceded her on November 2, 1992, by a grandson, Tony Rocchi, a sister, Betty Jo Ratliff, and by 3 brothers, Olan, Raymond, and Buford Ratliff.
Lois was a graduate of Rio Grande High School. She was a well known business women and entrepreneur in Gallipolis. Included in her businesses, she was a Home Interior Consultant from 1979 until 2006.
She is survived by 4 children, Cinda (Ron) Saunders of Gallipolis, Michael (Barbara) Shaver of Cheshire, Melody (Roger) Smith of Marietta, and Kim (Mario) Rocchi of Vinton.
10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
2 brothers, Jack (Louise) Ratliff of Vinton, and George E. Ratliff of Vinton.
Also surviving are many special friends including, Chic and Clarice Plymale of Gallipolis.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Holzer Hospice, Holzer Senior Care and all the caregivers for the wonderful care they provided to Lois and to the family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Saturday January 28, 2012 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral Home with Pastor Mark Grizzard officiating.
Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Morgan Saunders, Brandon Saunders, Clayton Saunders, Travis Shaver, and Nick Rocchi. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Mario Rocchi, Roger Smith, Ron Saunders, Larry Hendershot, Matt Hendershot, and Matt Hartline.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Holzer Hospice 100 Jackson Pike Gallipolis, Ohio in Lois' memory.
