Louie Franklin Caudill, 91, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2026. Born on October 31, 1934, in Salyersville, Kentucky, Louie lived a long and meaningful life dedicated to his family and service to his country.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Louie exemplified commitment and patriotism throughout his life. Known for his quiet demeanor and sharp sense of humor, he brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was a pipefitter by trade, but his greatest pride was his role as "Papaw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he shared countless cherished moments.
Louie is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Dora Caudill; his sons Steve (Debbie) Caudill and Kenneth Caudill (Michelle Jarrell); and his grandchildren Kenneth (Fallon) Caudill, Colby Caudill (Logan Fox), Jim (Marlena) Caudill, and Meghan (Zak) Ogilbee. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Clarke, Cameron, and Everly. Louie is further survived by his siblings Wanda Jean Connelley, Trudeen Robertson, and Phillip Caudill, as well as many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mildred and Brooklyn Caudill; his brother Carroll Caudill; and sisters Garnett and Mary Jo.
Louie's legacy is one of love, humor, and quiet strength. His memory will forever be a source of comfort to all who knew him.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Monday June 8, 2026 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 PM. till 8 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Kenneth Caudill, Colby Caudill, Jimmy Caudill, Michael Caudill, Anthony Tackett and Tim Wright.
