Luella 'Bill' Raike, age 94, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday morning May 21, 2013 at Abbyshire Place. Born January 1, 1919 in Crown City. She was the daughter of the late Charles L. and Florence Geneva Brumfield Day. In addition to her parents, Luella is preceded by her husband, Captain Howard Raike, who she married on January 17, 1942 and he preceded her on September 14, 1987, and by two sisters, Charlotte Leone Day and Lillian Irene Unroe.
Luella or 'Bill' as she was known to everyone, retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center, and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She loved to spend time reading the bible, quilting, crocheting, and playing cards.
She is survived by, three sisters, Louise Daniels, Hildreth Williams, and Delma (Eugene) Brown all of Gallipolis. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday May 25, 2013 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Voss officiating.. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers will be, Zach Green, Bobby Unroe, Junior Unroe, Billy Unroe, David Williams, and Keith Williams.
