Lyda L. Hudson, age 80, of Gallipolis, died Thursday July 7, 2016 under the loving care of the staff at the Holzer Assisted Living Community. Born February 16, 1936 in Dorothy, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Granville and Elsie Stover Farley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Conard Edward Hudson, a son, Conard E. 'Ed' Hudson Jr., a brother, Ermil Farley and by a sister, Frankie Painter.
Lyda was a 1954 graduate of Clearfork High School. Lyda was a homemaker and attended Northup Baptist Church, where she was active in the 'Touching Little Lives' project where they made baby quilts. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star # 283, and the French City Shrinettes. She was a well-known cook, sharing her talents with friends, family and several organizations.
Lyda is survived by, her daughter Angela Hudson of Grove City, a sister, Virginia Taylor of Gallipolis, granddaughter, Lauren Hudson, great granddaughter, Joclyn, a special niece, Cheryl Vanco of Gallipolis, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Monday July 11, 2016 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral Home on Sunday from 5-8 PM. OES service will be conducted at 8:00 PM. Sunday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be, Carlos Wood, Chuck Vanco, Marc Vanco, Bill Franke, Howard Taylor, David Caldwell, and Chris Homer.
