Marjorie Lynn Gilliam Wood, age 68, of Gallipolis died Tuesday August 5, 2025 at her residence. Born October 1, 1956 in Gallia County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James Gilliam and Eleanor Gatewood Gilliam. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by a son, Burton Wood.

Marjorie graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1974. She married the love of her life Charles D. 'Chuck' Wood on March 27, 1976 and they had 3 children. After the kids were all in school, she worked at Carter's Plumbing for many years and retired from there. She was an active member of the Grace Methodist Church and held many positions over the years and was the church historian. She was also a proud member of the French Art Colony Chapter of the Daughter's of the American Revolution and served as registrar for many years. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids, she enjoyed traveling to support them in their many sporting events over the years and going to anything they did. Marjorie enjoyed taking trips with her husband to do family research and genealogy. She also enjoyed compiling information, talking and sharing about her great grandma, Emma Gatewood and the hiking adventures she had.

She is survived by her husband, Charles D. Wood of Gallipolis; daughter, Jessica (Michael) Weber of Gallipolis; son, Clayton Wood of Point Pleasant; grandchildren; Eric, Ryan, Teagan Weber all of Gallipolis, Landon and Conner Wood of Point Pleasant; brother, Randy (Sue) Gilliam; sister, Gwen (Dennis) McGuire of Gallipolis; brother in laws, Mike (Mary) Wood of Kentucky and Will (Jeanine) Wood of Gallipolis; sister in law, Ann Carter of Nevada; uncle, Charles (Debby) Gatewood of Crown City; special family, Allie Troester and Olivia Lauric; and by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Friday August 8, 2025 at the Grace Methodist Church with Pastor Ray Kane officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:00 AM. till 1:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be: Eric Weber, Ryan Weber, Clayton Wood, Will Wood, Ronnie Denney and Gracie Denney.
