Obituary

Mary Armstrong was called home to glory on Monday, June 9, 2025. In loving memory of our mother, sister, aunt, teacher and friend. Mary Laura Armstrong was born on Saturday, August 25, 1956 to her parents Mason and Nina Peck.

To her students and many in the community she was Miss Mary. Using her love of music and her passion for early childhood education, Mary dedicated her professional life teaching and preparing children for school at Head Start. Outside of work, she was an active and devoted member of the NAACP and Eastern Star. Mary found joy in spending time with family and friends. She used her beautiful singing voice and testimony to spread the word of God, always lifting her voice up in praise.

Mary will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, kindness and unwavering faith in Christ. Always remember: Just a little talk with Jesus makes it right.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and her daughter. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and host of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

A funeral and celebration of her life will be 2:00 PM. Monday June 16, 2025 at Paint Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Christian Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in Bidwell. Friends may call at the church on Monday 1 hour prior to services.
