Obituary

Melissa Dawn (Adkins) Bostic

Melissa Dawn Bostic joined her mother in Heaven on July 3, 2025 leaving many behind who will miss her immensely. Born June 25, 1970 to Keith and Betty Adkins, Missy married her high school sweetheart, Tim Bostic, in 1990. Together, they built a beautiful family who would make any parents proud. Missy was her children's biggest cheerleader, and they in turn were hers. They walked alongside her through many challenging chapters, praising her from the mountaintops and encouraging her through the valleys. Ciara (Justin) Weaver and Coleton (Jordan) Bostic added four precious granddaughters who loved spending time at Mimi and Pap's. Vaida Weaver and Emersyn, Sawyer, and Laurel Bostic absolutely adored their Mimi, and they were her world.

Missy was gifted in hospitality and the best cook. Her favorite thing was her kitchen full of family, friends, and neighbors. She loved to be in the kitchen with her father-in-law while they perfected their sweet pickle recipe, teaching her grandkids how to make cookies, and cooking holiday dinners. She was especially generous, selecting the perfect gifts for every or no occasion, and was happiest when doing for others. Missy was the keeper of all things meaningful; her house like a museum for those gone before: a grandmother's wedding dress, handmade quilts, special dishes, cookbooks, family recipes, and pictures for generations. She especially cherished items that others held dear.

In addition to the most loving husband, incredible children, and beautiful grandchildren, Missy will be sadly missed by her father, Keith Adkins, sisters Tonya (Brian) Wilt, Wendy (Greg) Meredith, and brother Leighton (Brandi) Adkins; mother-in-law Lawana Bostic and sisters-in-law Tami (Mark) Null and Tina (Randy) Layton, as well as many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own. Missy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Adkins, and father-in-law, Brian Bostic. She leaves behind many aunts and uncles, special cousins, and life-long friends who meant so much to her. Missy had the biggest heart, loved large, and touched the lives of all whose paths she crossed; she will be missed beyond measure.
