Melissa Ashell Martin, age 46, of Crown City, died Friday December 23, 2016. Born October 1, 1970 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of Rebecca J. Taylor Gillespie and the late James Dale Caldwell.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her: mother, Rebecca J. Gillespie of New Haven, WV, husband, Terry D. Martin of Crown City, 3 sons, Derick Martin, Dakota Martin and Taylor Martin all of Crown City, 2 sisters, Angie Adkins of Gallipolis and Cindy Caldwell of Mason, WV, a half-brother, Jamie Dale Caldwell, a half-sister, Jessie Caldwell, 4 grandchildren, Vayda Martin, Madison Martin, Donavon Martin and Abigail Long, and 2 step grandchildren, Wesley Henry, and Aurbee Jo. Also surviving is her grandparents, James Alva and Wanda Caldwell of Crown City and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Friday December 30, 2016 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the funeral home to help with her funeral expenses.
